I’m a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience supporting mental health across community, medical, and academic spaces. My training has focused on trauma throughout the lifespan, and I’m a certified Trauma Center–Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator (TCTSY-F). I’ve also taught at the college and graduate levels, and I consult with organizations on mental health, diversity, and trauma. My private practice centers the care of Black women, offering space to move beyond managing symptoms and into a life rooted in healing, connection, and growth.
My personal mission is to give voice to the voiceless and hope to the hopeless and to help people to feel seen, heard, and valued. My work as a psychologist is one way that I try to carry out this mission.
The name of my practice, Dawn Living, captures the goal of my work with clients. While the initial focus of the work is to reduce or eliminate symptoms, the ultimate goal is to help individuals move toward an experience of thriving. Dawn is the moment when light breaks through the darkness. Treatment is that light. Increasing awareness of a mind, body, spirit connection is part of that light. However, light does not last forever. Darkness will return. So part of thriving is the recognition of this pattern that light and dark will come and go and at times coexist. The practice that shapes a Dawn Living lifestyle is one that implements tools and supports to navigate both the light and the dark to create the life an individual is choosing to live.
